Good news and bad news

Bad news first-  Looks like the Brits are all about globally warming us all with their outdoor patio heaters… If you ask me, this has got to be one of the most absurd inventions ever created by man. “It’s a heater… for outside!” I mean COME ON! Apparently, smokers need to stay warm.

What’s the good news you might ask? Well, if you look carefully at this article in Celsias,  you might notice that its written by a certain someone that you may or may not know as the Closet Environmentalist 😀 That’s right! I got a job!!!

But worry not, I will not neglect the Closet Environmentalist… (Or at least not anymore than its already been neglected :D). So first of all, take a good look at Celsias because it’s a great site, and I’ll be sure to let you know when you can read some fab new posts by yours truly over there 😉

Well, that’s just silly. It is always raining over here, anyways.

    Great article

Congrats on the article. The brit’s aren’t alone with those patio heaters, however. They’re used in the US too. A lot of restaurants in NYC use them to extend the outdoor eating season…

Thanks! I always enjoy writing about things that piss me off. Its good therapy 😉 There are plenty of places that use those things, but I guess it’s news because the brits like to talk a lot about reducing their emissions, which kinda goes against the trend of outdoor heaters.

    Hi Alina –

Excellent blog you have here – friendly, relaxed and uncluttered. Welcome also to Celsias (I have the dubious title of CEO which just means that others like you get to do the fun stuff like write while I answer the mail, pay the bills, organize the rubbish on Tuesdays, etc.!). I can also appreciate your multi-cultural upbringing – I have English parents, was born and grew up in France speaking Alsatian and French, lived in Canada, then New York, then Yemen, and now New Zealand! I look forward to your next post, your thesis permitting, of course…btw, what is your thesis on?

Nick, nice to ‘virtually’ meet you 🙂 Thats quite an interesting life story! My thesis is on e-waste, and unfortunately much less interesting than it sounds. My post-writing breaks are very much appreciated.
